Environment:
Start Time: 8:15 AM Temperature: 49 degrees Sky: Sunny, Intermittent Breeze

Got a little earlier start this morning thanks to an absolutely cloudless sky which allowed the sunlight to shine unhindered. My walk was pretty much a carbon copy of yesterday’s except no Osprey bothered to show up. Speaking of not showing up, something I’ve noticed this year is an incredible lack of butterflies in the park. I’ve only seen a few all season. To make up for it I reached back to September 29, 2019 for today’s featured image of a Viceroy butterfly and a Cabbage butterfly on some blooming Rabbitbrush. On the other hand I had a reasonably successful photography day adding a new bird – Hutton’s Vireo pictured below and a shot of a Yellow-Rumped Warbler.

Sightings:
Birds: Starlings, Mallard Ducks, Belted Kingfisher, Flickers, California Gull, Cormorant, Yellow-Rumped Warbler, Hutton’s Vireo, Robins, Dark-Eyed Juncos, Canada Geese, flitty birds
Critters: Mule Deer, Squirrels

Gear: Lumix GX-85, 100-300 mm
