Start Time: 7:45 AM Temperature: 52 degrees Sky: Hazy sunshine, light breeze

With Autumn showing it’s colors more and more at Lake Pueblo State Park I decided to put my vintage Olympus Zuiko 14-54mm zoom (a lens I have still not written up in this blog) on the Panasonic GX-85 and went looking for scenery. Once I got looking around I decided that maybe I was jumping the gun a little since there is still much that is green on my normal route. But I did manage some color – mostly thanks to the early morning low angled light cutting through the wildfire haze. A sampling of images is posted below. The featured image for the day is of the trees surrounding the Anticline Fishing Pond. I am giving them the featured position since they seem to be getting into the spirit of Autumn with a little more gusto.

Bushtit at Lake Pueblo State Park, Colorado

Of course, since I was walking around the park with the wrong lens for birding, I came across a group of really tiny birds flitting through the underbrush right by the Arkansas River. Consequently the photo I am posting here is not particularly good (It’s bad) I felt compelled to include it because it is a “new” bird for my personal list of sightings. According to Google Lens, pictured here is an American Bushtit. Hopefully I can spot one again when I have the appropriate lens on duty.
