Environment:
Start Time: 9:45 AM Temperature: 41 degrees Sky: Sunshine, high clouds, light breeze

Started a little late the morning thanks to the early morning freezing temperature. Forty degrees is my cutoff for outdoor walking/photography. I have found that my wildlife photography is much better when I can feel my hands. I don’t know if the birds have similar temperature requirements or if there is some other reason that so few were out and about this morning. Those who were around wanted nothing to do with me. The only decent shot I got this morning is today’s featured image of a Song Sparrow. Not real flashy. The autumn color is getting better and better but I was really not equipped to capture it properly. To compensate I have looked back into the archives and am posting (below) a shot from this day in 2019 of the scene at the Anticline Fishing Pond.

Sightings:
Birds: California Gull, Mallard Ducks, Cormorant, White-Crowned Sparrows, Song Sparrow, Robins, Belted Kingfishers, Flickers, Hawk, Audubon’s Warbler
