Woke up this morning to a below freezing temperature. This is the time of year when my walking time switches from AM to PM. But I did make it out to Lake Pueblo State Park after lunch. The light was not what I have grown used to with the Sun much higher in the sky – flattening everything out. In the spirit of change I decided, on the spur of the moment, to hike today on the south bank of the Arkansas River instead of my usual northern route. At first I was wondering out loud why I don’t patrol this side of the river more often but it didn’t take long for me to figure it out. The trail is much rougher and the access to the river is really limited. I ended up with no usable images. So I searched the archives once again and came up with today’s featured image of wild sunflowers shot September, 2019.
