This morning started out quite a bit warmer than yesterday allowing me to head out before lunch. I took my time and enjoyed a long walk. On the way into Lake Pueblo State Park I happened to see two Mountain Bluebirds flying across the road. This is another type of bird that spends its Winter here. I have high hopes of getting a chance to photograph one of these this season. When I hit the trail with camera in hand the bigger birds were nowhere to be seen and the smaller ones were really not cooperating – except for one Song Sparrow who posed calmly for me for probably an entire minute. Unfortunately non of the images I captured were in focus. Of course, I started by blaming the camera for this issue but after thinking it over I decided that I had probably been too close to my subject. I chased a Thrasher around a bush with no success and then capped off the outing by, once again, trying to get a decent shot of my Western Grebe buddy who was still working the Fishing Pond. Instead of being too close to this subject, I was really too far away. So for my featured image today I am posting another Autumn scenic from my files. This one is the scene of the Anticline Fishing Pond with the Autumn leaves reflecting on the calm water. This shot was captured October 30, 2018.
