Out early again trying to photograph that early bird getting the worm. Also I was trying to beat the predicted cloudy/windy conditions expected later today. Plenty of birds out doing bird stuff. It looks like the Starlings are getting set up for the season – lots of movement in and out of nests. Today’s featured image is a pair of Wood Ducks in the Arkansas River. Pictured below is an Osprey scoping out the Anticline Fishing Pond. The real prize photo of the day is posted here – a Sharp-shinned Hawk. These hawks look almost identical to Cooper’s Hawks – I could probably get away with that ID. This bird was smaller than Cooper’s Hawks that I’ve seen at Lake Pueblo State Park so I’m sticking with Sharp-shinned.
