Salsify at Lake Pueblo State Park, Colorado

Today’s outing was really quite mellow. I only saw five or six ducks on the river and I was only able to identify Mallards. The Geese were keeping to the shore – today’s featured image is of one group having a little meal by the river. Flowers are starting to bloom. Posted here is what Google identifies as Salsify. Pretty sure it is just a weed but a pretty one. There were a lot of really little birds Wrens and Warblers but they were too busy to pose.

Sightings:
Birds: Canada Geese, Osprey, Starlings, Cormorants, Swallows, Barn Swallows, Mallards, Western Kingbirds, Eastern Kingbirds, House Wren, Bullock’s Oriole, Northern Flicker, Red-winged Blackbird, Yellow-rumped Warbler
Critters: Prairie Dogs, Squirrel, Cabbage Butterflies, Ornate Tree Lizard

Gear: Nikon D5600, 55-300mm
