Check out last year’s walk on this day here.
Things are getting a little confusing weather-wise around here. Such a beautiful morning in early November – if not for the quantity of leaves and the current leaf color you could be forgiven for mistaking the month for June. The highlight of the morning came when some of my spotters pointed out a Coyote that I had failed to see and I was able to get a quick shot. That shot is posted on Instagram and can be seen here. Other than that I find that the park is settling into it’s Winter groove. I got a shot of some Gadwall Ducks – one of them is today’s featured image (above). There were also several Red-tailed Hawks lurking in the trees and on the power poles. A Northern Flicker flew right over me – his belly shot is posted below. I’ve also posted a (long) shot of an American Kestrel who apparently had something to say – probably commenting on the great weather.

Sightings:
Birds: Mallards, Gulls, Canada Geese, Northern Flicker, Red-tailed Hawks, Pied-billed Grebe, American Kestrel, Sparrows, Gadwalls, Great Blue Heron
Critters: Prairie Dogs, Tree Squirrels, Coyote
Gear: Nikon D5600, 55-300MM
