While some folks were out taking advantage of Black Friday deals, I, and a lot of others, was out taking an afternoon walk along the Arkansas River. I really kind of prefer late afternoon / early evening walks at Lake Pueblo State Park in the cooler months. For one thing it is usually warmer and the light from the lower angled sunshine makes for some great shots. Today’s offerings aren’t really good examples of those afore mentioned “Great Shots” but you have to deal with the subjects that present themselves. Today’s featured image (above) is a White-breasted Nuthatch. Also posted is a rear view of a Mule Deer Buck headed out into the prairie. With mating season in full swing I’ve been seeing quite a few bucks hanging around. Below is a Dark-eyed Junco who was the most sedentary of the birds who were out today.
Sightings:
Birds: Mallards, Gulls, Canada Geese, Starlings, American Robin, Dark-eyed Junco, White-breasted Nuthatch, White-crowned Sparrow
Critters: Prairie Dogs, Mule Deer
Gear: Nikon D5600, 55-200mm
