Yet another warmish morning lured me out for an early stroll along the Arkansas River. Of course, I wanted to partake of all the eagles that have been hanging around lately. There were eagles but they were not doing much except perching in hard to photograph locations. I did manage to ambush one and a front and back view is posted below. There were quite a few woodpeckers flitting around today – both Hairy and Downy. Posted here is what I think is a Hairy Woodpecker. Today’s featured image is a Pied-billed Grebe who was floating pretty close to the bank on my side of the river and I was attracted to the reflection – plus it was early in my walk and I wanted to have something to post.

Birds: Goldeneye, Buffleheads, Gulls, Canada Geese, American White Pelican, American Bald Eagle, Hairy Woodpecker, Northern Flicker, Pied-billed Grebe, American Coot, Dark-eyed Juncos
Critters: Prairie Dogs
