American Bald Eagle at Lake Pueblo State Park, Colorado

Another worrisome weather forecast and a scheduled afternoon eye appointment brought me out this morning in a temperature a little colder than I normally prefer. Really the air temp combined with the sunshine wouldn’t have been that bad if it wasn’t for the relentless, killer cold breeze. BUT there were eagles hanging around the Anticline Fishing Pond. I decided to hang with them and we all had a ball! We all sat and waited for a while and then the birds started changing perching venues with occasional episodes of Eagle Tag and Ariel Wrestling. They put on quite a show! I was really getting cold – losing the feeling in my hands – and I kept trying to leave but each exit attempt was interrupted with more Eagle Antics. Needless to say I took quite a few pictures – a few of which are posted here. You can enjoy them while I warm up.
