Cooper's Hawk at Lake Pueblo State Park, Colorado

Clouds and wind are being forecast for later today so I made an effort to get on the trail as early as possible. Walking (and shooting) conditions would have been ideal if it hadn’t been for the biting breeze that refused to go away. Today’s featured image (above) is a couple of Wood Ducks who, I guess, were looking everywhere for that perfect nesting site. I wish these two could give posing lessons to all the other birds in the park. Posted here is another portrait of a Cooper’s Hawk – probably the same bird as I posted Monday. And I got a New Bird as seen below – a Cinnamon Teal. The mini-gallery posted below are shots of an Osprey who would not wait for me to get a clear shot before it made its strike on the Arkansas River. So I ended up with some poor shots of him/her passing by with the proceeds of its efforts. I couldn’t decide which picture was “best” so I posted both.
