Cooler temperature this morning but somehow it seemed warmer than yesterday – maybe it was the jacket and mittens. Things were not super active today (except for Starlings and Swallows) but the Osprey were busier than yesterday. I saw one Osprey carrying a nice fish and another with more nesting material. I also saw a number of Wood Ducks up in the trees. I’m not sure if they are still looking for nesting sites or simply trying to remember where they put theirs. There were more Cinnamon Teal out on the Arkansas River (below) and, way off the trail, I saw a Blue Jay harassing a perched Red-tailed Hawk. The Red-tail finally got the message and flew off. Today’s featured image is an American Kestrel having a look over its shoulder – probably checking for that Blue Jay. The mini-gallery below is proof that Spring is underway.
