Environment:

Slightly crisper air out on the trail this morning but still good walking weather. The Osprey were really flying around and, at one point, I could see six birds in the air without turning my head. Pictured here is one resting and possibly drying off. Below is another shot of a Cooper’s Hawk having breakfast – s/he was really back in the shadows. Today’s featured image is a couple of Red-breasted Mergansers enjoying a morning swim on the Arkansas River. For the bottom of the post there are two pretty cooperative birds both of whom were talking a lot.

Critters: Tree Squirrels, Mule Deer, Cottontail Rabbit
