Blue Jay at Lake Pueblo State Park, Colorado

More fabulous walking conditions this morning at Lake Pueblo State Park. I was surprised (and delighted) to find two of the Cooper’s Hawk siblings still in the vicinity of the nest – chasing each other from branch to branch. It’s been quite a while since I have seen an adult so these two might be on their own. Today’s featured image is one of them making a slight hop to another branch .The mini-gallery at the bottom of the post has a couple more shots that I felt I had to take because the kids were so nicely lit. Pictured here is what I believe to be a juvenile Blue Jay who was out with the whole family checking everything out. I also had a good chance at some Osprey fishing shots. I didn’t start shooting until it was in the water and I got a number of better shots than the one posted here but this one was the most dramatic. Nothing better than a little drama in the morning – I think Shakespeare said that.
