Great Blue Heron at Lake Pueblo State Park, Colorado

Today’s morning outing delivered up a nice variety of mostly perched subjects. The featured image (top) isn’t the best shot of the day but it is the most colorful – a Lesser Goldfinch pursuing its hobby. For some reason these birds don’t like to be in focus. The rising Sun was illuminating some of the annoying power lines that run through LPSP and in a fit of artistic exuberance I snapped the picture below.

Sightings:
Birds: Mallards, Osprey, European Starlings, Double Crested Cormorants, Common Grackle, Western Kingbirds, Blue Jays, Great Blue Heron, Killdeer, Woodpeckers, Northern Flicker, Wren, Yellow Warbler
Critters: Mule Deer, Prairie Dog

Gear: Olympus OM-D E-M1 Mark II, Panasonic Lumix 100-300mm
