After returning from my Holiday visit to San Francisco I am facing two issues. First, of course, is the super cold weather and, second, I managed to pick up a bug somewhere along the way. Right now I am thinking (hoping) chest cold but I am not in a position to go out walking in the woods. Instead I am dipping into two years of archived posts and giving you, my loyal reader, a little trip down memory lane. Enjoy.

Environment:
Start Time: 2:40 PM Temperature: 60 degrees Sky: Sunny, no clouds, light breeze

The last day of November turned to be another perfect walking day and it started out with great promise. As I drove into the park I saw an American Bald Eagle flying West toward the Lake Pueblo Dam from the Rock Canyon area where I normally walk. I was hoping that he had left some friends behind but I walked my full tour without spotting another Eagle. In fact I saw very few birds at all. I heard an owl hooting loudly in the Osprey Picnic area but, try as I might, I could not locate him in the trees. I did get a few shots of a White-Crowned Sparrow and that is all. Fortunately I have in my trusty archive an image of a Bald Eagle shot last November which I offer here as today’s featured image.

Sightings:
Birds: Mallard Ducks, Gulls, Western Grebe, American Bald Eagle, White-Crowned Sparrows, Dark-Eyed Juncos, Canada Geese, Starlings
Critters: Mule Deer, Squirrel
