Environment:
Start Time: 4:45 PM Temperature: 40 degrees Sky: Sunshine, a few clouds and a light breeze.

After much internal debate I finally decided that an afternoon walk was doable. This morning was quite chilly and a little cloudy but things did turn around nicely. Once out on the trail I was happy to find it not at all muddy as I had expected. I guess all the birds decided to quit early today – probably to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day. Not a lot going on. I saw no Owls or Eagles. Today’s featured image is a Red-tailed Hawk minding it’s nest- I hope it produces lots of little hawklets. There are not many Osprey to be seen around the park, in fact, I think there is only one. S/He must have flown back early to get the good nest. Also pictured here is a Great Blue Heron who was trying its luck on the Anticline Fishing Pond since there were no humans around to get in the way. There were a good number of Mule Deer out – coming off the prairie down into the Osprey Picnic Area.
