Environment:
Start Time: 9:10 AM Temperature: 38 degrees Sky: Sunny with light wind.
It wasn’t windy at my house when I headed out this morning but I arrived at Lake Pueblo State Park to find a wicked cold wind blowing with malicious intent. I hit the trail anyway – very happy to have remembered my mittens. I found out today that I can stop worrying about the Ospreys because they are here in good number and most of them (except the one pictured here) were loving the wind and were gliding well up in the sky. At one point I had five of them in my view without even a turn of the head. Today’s most cooperative bird – and thus the featured image – was a little Bewick’s Wren who, like me, was not enjoying the wind. He made it tough on me but I eventually got a decent capture. Cooper’s Hawk and Red-tail nests were unattended today.
