Perfect walking/biking/fishing conditions were the order of the day this morning. Things are starting to perk up around the park – I saw my first Swallows of the year. Today’s featured image is a Double Crested Cormorant perching over the Arkansas River. I believe that the tufts (or crests) on this birds head identify it as a member of a breeding pair. The Cooper’s Hawk nest and the Red-tail nest were unattended this morning but I did find the Red-tailed parents-to-be nearby. Another Osprey could not wait for me to show up to record its fishing expedition so, once again, I got to watch it chow down.
