Environment:
Start Time: 6:45 AM Temperature: 52 degrees Sky: Wildfire haze filtered sunshine.
For some reason the Weather Service people did not issue an air quality advisory today. Wildfire haze was very apparent and I could not even see Pikes Peak as I drove into the park. I threw caution to the wind and took my normal walk anyway. Pictured here are the Wild Roses that are starting to bloom and below is a Mule Deer doe whose Summer coat is just starting to come in. The Red-tailed Hawk mom (?) was in the nest again and I can’t decide if there are hatchlings in there too. I caught another Osprey hosting a fish for breakfast – this might be the same bird as yesterday but it is certainly a different fish. Today’s featured image (up top) is a Bullock’s Oriole in mid-flap headed for another bush.
