From the looks of the photos posted at the bottom the Red-tailed Hawk nest has been occupied by fresh hawk for longer than I thought. There is at least one new arrival from what I can see. The adult guard that I have been seeing was still perched on the nearby tree so I guess Junior does not need close supervision. One of these nest shots would normally be a featured image candidate but I had a rare sighting of a Lazuli Bunting (only the second one I have ever seen) so that got the coveted top slot. As you can see here the Cormorants are starting to stack up over the Arkansas River and one Osprey teased me by hovering over the river for a little while but finally choose to fly off. There is still no activity at the Cooper’s Hawk nest.
