Canada Thistle at Lake Pueblo State Park, Colorado

Really calm and quiet this morning out on the trail. Maybe the heat is driving activity into the shade. Osprey were the most prevalent bird by far. Today’s featured image is a family portrait (#3 child ducked out of sight at the wrong moment) of the Ospreys nested at the river bend near the old Highway 96 bridge. I’m not sure if the youngsters have their flying licenses or not. Post bottom is a shot I often take when it presents itself. Yes my favorite tree with my favorite bird on top. Some of the weeds are kind of pretty – picture here is some Canada Thistle showing some color. Making up the the lack of birds are the insects who are out in force. I wish those Swallows would get to work!
