Another nice morning with very low wildlife activity. I guess things are moving along, though. Only one of the juvenile Ospreys (featured) was present at the river bend nest. He looked a little bewildered but was still being watched over from afar by one of the adults. The most active bird I encountered was the Black-capped Chickadee pictured here who was feverishly working the bare branches and being pretty successful at not being photographed. I did manage to get a good photo of a Great Horned Owl who looked to me like he (?) was getting ready to doze off. A mellow morning, for sure.

Birds: Mallard Ducks, Canada Geese, Mourning Doves, Western Kingbirds, Ospreys, Common Grackle, Barn Swallows, Starlings, Redheaded Woodpecker, Double Crested Cormorants, Black-capped Chickadee, Rufous-sided Towhee (possible), Northern Flickers
Critters: Mule Deer, Cabbage White Butterflies, mosquitoes, Grasshoppers, Cottontail Rabbit
