Environment:
Start Time: 6:55 AM Temperature: 65 degrees Sky: Bright sunshine and a few clouds.
Ospreys were the stars of this morning. The juveniles at the River Bend Nest were all taking turns launching from the nest and soaring around only to return a few moments later. All three are getting pretty good at flying. Hope I get to see some fishing lessons in the next few days. Even with the Osprey action the featured slot (top) goes to the Great Horned Owl who was resting quietly in the shade. This is probably the same owl I’ve been shooting over the last couple of outings. I also managed to capture an Orchard Oriole (right) who was moving around with a couple of females – not sure if they are staying or just passing through. I also captured what Google identifies as a Hairy Woodpecker but I think might be a Nuttall’s Woodpecker. Sadly I didn’t get any DNA samples.
