Environment:
Start Time: 9:05 AM Temperature: 33 degrees Sky: More clouds than Sun.
Once again, the Sun failed to win dominance over the thickish morning clouds leaving me to do my best with the crappy light that remained. There were some pretty good birds out this morning for a change. Featured is one of two Great Blue Herons I found perching well up in the trees. An American Kestrel took a quick break – also well up in the air. For birds in flight today I got a female Belted Kingfisher and a male Common Goldeneye – both working on the Arkansas River. I caught glimpses of two different hawks but wasn’t able to confidently identify either of them. I still haven’t seen an Eagle.
