Environment:
Start Time: 8:45 AM Temperature: 35 degrees Sky: Bright sunshine.
Old Mr. Sun showed up today. The light was brilliant with an extra kick provided by the blanket of snow covering the park. The birds were still kind of scarce but two old friends were on their stations – the Great Blue Heron (below) and the Great Horned Owl (bottom). These two are getting to be pretty reliable subjects which makes me think I should leave them alone. The snow-capped Wild Sunflower head is pictured here to give an idea of the amount of snow that fell at Lake Pueblo State park over the last couple of days. The featured image is a lone Killdeer who was working the bank of the Arkansas River and providing a nice reflection in the water.
