Kind of an interesting outing this morning. Got a great many great shots of Lake Pueblo State Park’s newest residents below. These little owls are growing up quickly. I also spotted the Red-tailed Hawk nest today pictured here with an adult checking in. I did not see any youngsters there but I can now monitor it more often. I also managed some shots of an American Kestrel couple in an amorous moment. They have a nest to populate so that they can keep up with the owls and hawks. The big story revolves around today’s featured image of an Osprey. I found this bird perched high up in one of the fire damaged trees near the river. Just minding its own business. I was fully zoomed in on it when out of nowhere a Canada Goose basically attacked. There was quite a kerfuffle. Things were happening fast so I stayed with the Osprey and really got no usable shots of the aggressive goose. The shot posted is the Osprey’s reaction at the goose’s approach. pretty wild!
