Excellent walking conditions were present early this morning at Lake Pueblo State Park. Starlings, Swallows and Osprey were all quite active today. I saw four different Osprey (I am posting shots of two) each with a pretty nice fish in tow. I didn’t witness any of these successful catches but today’s featured image (above) is one that flew over me as I was arriving at the Anticline Fishing Pond. I grabbed this quick shot and have posted (below) a blow up of his prize. In the mini-gallery below are two shots of the same bird – first perched in a tree holding its fish and flapping his wings at other Osprey who were demonstrating keen interest in said catch. To avoid further harassment “he” abandoned this perch and flew high up in the sky with his catch and hovered and chirped at the other birds. Also posted is a Rock Squirrel who was branching out this morning.
