Environment:
Start Time: 8:00 AM Temperature: 46 degrees Sky: Sunshine with light breeze.
Forty six degrees sounded warmish to me so I got going early without taking a jacket. This was a decision that I regretted periodically through the outing – but I survived. The Osprey were not as active today as they were yesterday but I did see two different birds with pretty big fish attached. Either the Arkansas River has been stocked with really stupid fish or this year’s crop of Osprey are highly skilled hunters. Speaking of skilled hunters, today’s featured image is a Cooper’s Hawk dining on its catch of the day. I can’t quite decide what it is the s/he is eating – looks yummy. The other big news of the day is that I have located a Kestrel nest – posted in the bottom mini-gallery below. I still have not encountered an owl – I will keep looking.
