The warm weather continues allowing me to arrive at the park at 7:25 this morning with a cooler than yesterday 45 degree temperature. Plenty of sun, no wind and few clouds in the sky for decoration. A lot of activity today from what I refer to as Flitty Birds. Those are the ones in constant motion that defy identification.

I only got one frame of an American Kestrel and it is no prize winner. Those guys are always perched so high up in the trees and they are so small that it is nearly impossible to get a decent shot with the less than magnificent telephoto lens that I usually carry. Even using the Lumix’s digital telephoto extension feature doesn’t help much. On the brighter side there were almost no annoying flying insects crowding the air – perhaps the Swallows are making good headway in keeping them under control.

Sightings:
Birds: Osprey, Starlings, Cormorants, Ducks, Canada Geese, Barn Swallow,s Robins, Kestrel, Western Meadow Lark, Blue Jay
Critters: Squirrel, Mule Deer
