Wren at Lake Pueblo State Park, Colorado

Very low activity out by the Arkansas River this morning. For a while I thought I was going to have to resort to shooting Robins but I ended up getting a couple of breaks. The biggest one was (my) sighting of the first Bullock’s Oriole of the season. To top that off, when I was trying to take a picture it decide to change branches and I got the rather angelic vision that is today’s featured image. I also had a couple of Wrens present themselves long enough to be photographed, though the one at the bottom of this post almost jumped the gun. And, of course, I got another Osprey eating a fish. I don’t know why they can’t wait for me to get there before they go fishing.

Sightings:
Birds: Mallards, Wood Ducks, Blue-winged Teal, Green-winged Teal, Canada Geese, Osprey, American Robin, European Starlings, Double-crested Cormorants, White-crowned Sparrows, Mourning Doves, Wren, Bullock’s Oriole, Northern Flicker, Western Kingbird, Red-tailed Hawk, Wild Turkeys, Blue Jays, Red-winged Blackbirds, Yellow-rumped Warbler
Critters: Tree Squirrels, Mule Deer, White-tailed Deer

Gear: Olympus OM-D E-M1 Mark II, Panasonic Lumix 100-300mm
