Cooper's Hawk at Lake Pueblo State Park, Colorado

Kind of an eerily quiet morning out on the trail today. But I did end up with a couple of bucks – today’s featured image. These two guys are really sprouting some impressive headgear. Still only one juvenile Cooper’s Hawk left but he did give me a pretty nice pose. The Osprey were quite visible though apparently not hungry. Below is a Summer scenic view that kind of demonstrates the tone of the park – I shot it with my phone .

Sightings:
Birds: Mallards, Osprey, Eastern Kingbirds, Western Kingbirds, Starlings, Mourning Doves, Canada Geese, Double Crested Cormorants, Cooper’s Hawk, Great Blue Heron, Common Grackle, House Wren, Bullock’s Oriole, Redheaded Woodpecker
Critters: Cabbage White Butterflies, Grasshoppers, Mule Deer, Wood Louse, Dragonflies
