Activity was subdued this morning out on the trails of Rock Canyon. Probably the biggest news is that, at least some of, the Osprey children are trying their talons at fishing. I watched one for a little while (bottom of Post) but he (?) needs to work on technique. Featured Is a couple of Double Crested Cormorants perched and drying over a bend in the Arkansas River. I think the one on the right is a juvenile. The plants in and around the trails are starting to bear fruit. Pictured here are some Wild Plums which are quite plentiful – last year we got none. Below is a Showy Milkweed Seed Pod. I have never seen one of these before but Google assures me that it is edible.
