Western Wood Pewee at Lake Pueblo State Park, Colorado

Yet another quiet day out on the trail. The Osprey were the most active which earned (at least one of them) both the featured image spot and the bottom picture as well. I did find one of the Cooper’s Hawks in the vicinity of the nest – complaining loudly but also tucked well into a very hidden perch. Pictured here is what Google says is a Western Wood Pewee – I would have called Flycatcher but I’ll go with Google. Also pictured below is the Green Heron that I, again, failed to sneak up on. Here it is on the other side of the Arkansas River.

Sightings:
Birds: Mallards, Osprey, Killdeer, Starlings, Mourning Doves, Canada Geese, Cooper’s Hawk, Green Heron, Belted Kingfisher, Western Wood Pewee, Eastern Kingbird, House Wrens
Critters: Grasshoppers, Mule Deer, Dragonflies, Prairie Dog

Gear: Olympus OM-D E-M1 Mark II, Panasonic Lumix 100-300mm
