Osprey with Catch Lake Pueblo State Park, Colorado

A very nice day for a walk in the woods. Though the visible bird activity was a bit disappointing the chatter was non-stop. I really wish I was better at identifying bird calls. The only ones I have down are Osprey, Blue Jay and generic Hawk. If a Heron makes a squawk I can usually recognize that too. With all that being said I did get a couple of nice shots of Osprey activity and another of a Great Blue Heron working the Arkansas River. I also got one really bad shot (that I will not post) of a bird was that was so big I thought I was looking at some type of hawk but it turned out to be a Common Raven.

For today’s featured image is a highly cropped image of an Osprey taking flight from his/her nest.
