Check out last year’s walk on this day!
Great walking conditions once again this morning. Quite a bit of avian activity and chatter for a change though the only bird capture I got was of the (posted) Western Kingbird. I haven’t been seeing many Kingbirds of late but there were plenty out today. Today’s star – and featured image – was the three foot Bullsnake I caught crossing the trail. Not sure if it was hurt or not but it did not want to move off the trail and didn’t seem to mind me getting closeup for the posted portrait. Possibly it was just enjoying the sunshine on the trail.

Sightings:
Birds: Mallards, Osprey, Double Crested Cormorants, Canada Geese, Mourning Doves, Common Grackle, Starlings, Killdeer, Red-winged Blackbird, Great Horned Owls, Western Kingbirds, Blue Jays, American Yellow Warbler
Critters: Cabbage Butterfly, Prairie Dogs, Monarch Butterfly, Widow Skimmer, Bullsnake, Mule Deer
Gear: Nikon D5600, 55-300mm
