Not everyone was having a slow day in Rock Canyon this morning. Pictured here is an Osprey banking off the Arkansas River with an impressive catch in hand. Really, Osprey and Great Blue Herons were about all there was to shoot today. Featured is a heron giving me a sunrise flight downriver. I keep looking for that Green Heron that I’ve seen a couple of times near the river bend Osprey nest but today it was a no-show. If nothing else, the fantastic weather is going to keep me coming back to the park – birds or no.
