The theme for today’s post has to be “Just Ducky!” I went out specifically to shoot ducks because I was going to try out a new technique for shooting them. I did not turn up any ducks willing to help me out on my experiment but I still got of lot of captures the old fashioned way. As you can see by what is posted here ducks were all I came home with. For some reason the Mallards were doing a lot of flying around while the Buffleheads and Goldeneye were happy to bob and float on the Arkansas River. Today’s featured image is a Common Goldeneye Drake looking especially dapper in the late afternoon light.

Sightings:
Birds: Mallards, Gulls, Canada Geese, American White Pelican, Pied-billed Grebe, Goldeneye, Buffleheads, American Coot, Great Blue Heron, American Kestrel
Critters: Tree Squirrel
Gear: Nikon D5600, 55-200mm
