Lake Pueblo State Park had a new greeter this afternoon in the form of a Great Blue Heron stationed high up on the bluff that defines Rock Canyon. Posted is a long shot to give a feel for its presence and below is a close-up showing his rather stern expression. I’m not sure what this big bird was watching since the park was pretty mellow overall. I was hoping to shoot some ducks but there were very few of those out though I did capture an American Coot touring the Arkansas River. Today’s featured image is a group of Mule Deer spotted in the prairie by one of my favorite trees – had to take the shot.
