It’s going to be a hot one today. Weather forecast is for 100+ degrees. We got to our starting spot at 6:10 again and the temp had only reached 56 degrees. No clouds were there to offer even the slightest relief. You gotta start early or forget about it.

I decided to give the heron’s a day off today and didn’t check out the nest this morning. I’m sure they are getting tired of me. Bird activity was quite low in the area of the park where I did walk. Today’s winner for most available bird would have to be Cormorants. I got quite a few shots of them (perching) – the shot below is the best – shot on the Panasonic GX-85 with the 100/300mm zoom and digital telephoto. I might be getting the hang of that rig.

Without a lot of images to post today I decided to look back in my archive for a July 08 image from another year. What I found was the featured image (above) of damage the park suffered in 2018 as a result of the Stonemoor Fire that started June 29, 2018. The affected area of the park was closed until July 08 when I was able to get in and capture this image (and many others.)
