Much more sun (and accompanying heat) this morning at Lake Pueblo State Park. The most activity that I witnessed was a group of around four or five smaller birds (probably Western Kingbirds) driving an American Kestrel out of the area. An Osprey teased me by gliding over the Anticline Fishing Pond and NOT fishing. And I got a shot of a Double Crested Cormorant perched on high panting to cool off. Today’s featured image is an early morning portrait of a still high Arkansas River looking East. At the bottom of this post is a shot of some type of fruit (?) growing on the side of the trail. Google was no help giving me so many options to choose from. Maybe as this stuff ripens up it will be easier to identify. Also pictured is a good sized group of what I believe to be Mallard hens and ducklings. I’m not sure if this is one family or many but they were getting along fine.
