More great walking conditions. Less birding opportunities. Today’s featured image is, I guess, a Deering opportunity with me finally getting a clear shot of a Mule Deer doe and her twins out shopping the prairie. The Cooper’s Hawk Kids were spending the morning chasing each other from tree to tree (their flight skills are quite good now) allowing me only one unobstructed shot of a stationary bird. To wrap it all up a Northern Flicker landed in some very flattering light and began posing for me.
