Double Crested Cormorant at Lake Pueblo State Park, Colorado

It kind of bums me out that such a beautiful early morning walk produced so little product for this post. The tone is best demonstrated by the Double-crested Cormorant pictured here that I caught yawning on the bank of the Arkansas River. Today’s featured image is a downriver shot of the Spring runoff as it flows through the Spring Morning at Lake Pueblo State Park. The one action shot that I got is posted below – an Osprey pulling up with its catch. This bird was so far away that this image is barely good enough to post – but it is kind of dramatic.

Sightings:
Birds: Mallards, Wood Ducks, Canada Geese, Osprey, American Robins, European Starlings, Double-crested Cormorant, Western Kingbirds, Mourning Doves, Bullock’s Orioles, Northern Flicker, Barn Swallows, Red-winged Blackbird
Critters: Prairie Dogs

Gear: Olympus OM-D E-M1 Mark II, Panasonic Lumix 100-300mm
