Liberty Point is one of my favorite landscape subjects in my area. I
see it with every visit to Lake Pueblo State Park and it has an
ability to take on different moods and appearances which vary with the
weather, my vantage point, season and time of day. On warmer days I
see it in the mornings and on cooler days I see it in late afternoons
and evenings. Many people will tell you that it is the highest point
in Pueblo County but that is really not so. It is the second highest
point, the first being Greenhorn Mountain in the far southwest of the
county. Nevertheless it pretty well dominates the area around it.

This shot was captured early on an August morning. I accomplished the
wide field of view using my Nikon D5100 to capture multiple images
which I later stitched together in ON1 Photo Raw. I used manual
exposure – f6.3, 1/1000 at ISO 320 with my AF-S Nikkor 55 – 200mm lens
set at 55mm.
