You never know what is going to happen. Last time I came out to Lake Pueblo State Park I came home with not much new on my memory card. Today I captured too many pictures to post! Today’s featured image is probably not the best shot of the day but it is the coolest. A Cinnamon Teal AND a Blue-winged Teal taking flight together. And both in focus! Below are a pair of American Kestrels who are probably hanging out close to their nest. Also pictured here is an adult Cooper’s Hawk who was working hard gathering nesting material though i did not get a good fix on the nest’s location. I think I spotted a Red-tail Hawk at its nest, too. Spring is shaping up nicely. My two biggest surprises were the sightings of a Double Crested Cormorant and an Osprey. The Osprey picture is at the bottom of this post – its no award winner but it is a very welcome sight.
