The morning clouds pushed me into a late afternoon walk today. As always, the afternoon wildlife activity was pretty subdued. BUT – as seen in the featured image – Osprey are returning to Rock Canyon, three days early by my estimation. If you look closely at the long shot the osprey is holding a fish in its talon. As I was leaving the park I found a Red-tailed Hawk perched high in the fading light. Mother Owl was in her nest but she seemed a little uncomfortable and was kind of panting to keep cool.
