You might think that with a 17 degree improvement in air temperature that the denizens of Lake Pueblo State Park would be more active today than they were yesterday. This, sadly, was not the case. Still, some birds made it out to keep me entertained. I got shots of three raptors – the featured Cooper’s Hawk who almost got away without being seen, the Red-tailed Hawk who kept moving from perch to perch and the Osprey who was bringing new building material to the nest. The Arkansas River was very sparsely populated – even the human fishermen were few and far between. I haven’t yet seen any Osprey fishing trips but I’m sure they will get hungry sometime this season.
