We slept in a little this morning but still made it out for our patrol at around 7:30. Temperatures are even warmer today and the weather folks are predicting record heat again. They had done so as well for yesterday and despite my doubts we did indeed set a record for the day at 94 degrees. With the few clouds in the sky this morning I have to accept that this will be a hot one for sure.
Shooting with the Nikon today. Once again there is not much going on in terms of bird photography. I got a quick shot of a Cottontail Rabbit and I have added a new bird to my personal collection of sightings: a Red-breasted Merganser which is a Duck. So the day wasn’t a total loss.
Sightings:
Birds: Starlings, Cormorants, Ducks, Canada Geese, Barn Swallows, Robins, Kestrel, Red-breasted Merganser, Flicker
Critters: Cottontail Rabbit, Mule Deer
