Great Blue Heron at Lake Pueblo State Park, Colorado

I will make this post short because as I write it is nearly bedtime. Those of you who know me know that I need my beauty sleep. The sky was cloudy and gloomy this morning so I put off my walk until late afternoon. There wasn’t a lot going on but I came home with some decent material nevertheless. First I actually caught a Raccoon prowling around the bank of the Arkansas River. S/He was really perturbed about me spotting him and made it difficult to get anything like a good shot. Then I saw my first Canada Goose Gosling of the year. A couple of adults were out on the river with only the one – but it was a cute one. I also caught another Osprey devouring a good sized fish high up in a tree. Finally I found a Great Blue Heron working the river bank. S/He posed for a little while and then took a flight path that went between me and the Sun – today’s featured image.
